Can YOU identify these two men?

CAN you help police identify two men who might have information about a theft and attempted theft in Yeovil?

The theft occurred at 4.45pm on Friday, July 12, at the Pizza Hut branch at Yeo Leisure Park when a man entered the restaurant and took a Samsung Galaxy which was on the counter.

A few minutes later, at 5.10pm, a couple sitting at an outside table at Starbucks were approached by two men who tried to steal a mobile phone. The victim saw what they were doing and challenged them and they left empty-handed.

In one theft one man placed a newspaper over a mobile phone while attempting to distract the victim.

A police spokesman said: “This is a known tactic; they will pick up the newspaper and the phone underneath and the distracted victim will not realise it is missing.

“People are advised to look after their property and keep it out of sight, preferably in a zipped-up pocket or bag and kept in front of you.”

An investigation has been launched into these two incidents and CCTV enquiries have identified two people who were in the area and may have information which could help us.

Police are appealing for these two men, or anyone who recognises them, to contact them on 101.
