Tesco cracking down on anti-social car park drivers

TESCO bosses in Yeovil are trying to clamp down on anti-social behaviour problems in the store’s car park in the centre of town.

The car park has been a hangout for young drivers at night and their sometimes dangerous motoring manoeuvres have become a constant headache.

Now store bosses have had enough and are working with police in a bid to sort out the problems once and for all.

Signs have been placed around the car park warning that the area is covered by CCTV cameras and footage of offending drivers and car registration numbers will be handed to the police.

This evidence will then be used by police to take action and seize the vehicles from the offenders.

The warning notice adds: “We would ask that the minority to which this applies amend their behaviour whilst in this car park so that this action will not be necessary.”

Action will be taken against anyone causing “excessive noise, dangerous driving or causing alarm, distress and annoyance to the public.”
