Talks on complex needs in South Somerset

PEOPLE in the South Somerset area are being given an important opportunity to hear from several key speakers about developments on a number of ambitious programmes of work designed to tackle complex needs in the district.

Presentations will include Family Focus, better support for families with complex needs, developing better housing provision for the growing numbers of older people in the South Somerset population and an initiative aimed at improving transport and access to services and businesses.

South Somerset Together, the area’s local strategic partnership, will hold its annual general meeting on Tuesday, July 2, at the district council’s offices in Brympton Way, Yeovil, from 6pm to 8.30pm.  Capacity in the Council Chamber is restricted, so the authority is asking for members of the public to book their place.

Representatives from a wide range of organisations, parishes and businesses in the area have already booked to attend this free event. Talks on complex needs in South Somerset

South Somerset Together draws representation from a wide range of public, private, voluntary and community organisations and includes all of the main service providers in the district, such as Yeovil College, South Somerset District Council, Yarlington Housing Group and Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

Its joined up approach aims to tackle some of the most difficult issues that could not be achieved by individual organisations, so saving time and public money.

Anyone wishing to attend can contact co-ordinator Chereen Scott on 01935-462730 or by e-mail at Chereen.scott@southsomerset.gov.uk .
