Raglan go-ahead in Coker

Raglan go-ahead in CokerPLANNING permission has been granted to build six new affordable homes in West Coker.

It means Raglan Housing will develop two, two-bedroom and four three-bedroom houses for rent at Font Villas. The company already manages seven rented homes in the village.

The news comes as the National Housing Federation launched its Rural Housing Week campaign for June 10-14 - designed to raise awareness about the need to provide more affordable housing for rural communities.

‘’This is a sought-after area which is suffering from a serious shortage of quality, affordable homes for local people to live in,” said: Richard Stevenson, Raglan’s business development director.

‘’We’ll now begin work to bring this project to life and help more members of the community remain in the local area.’’

Work on site is expected to begin later this year.
