Motorcyclist dies after road smash

A MOTORCYCLIST died as a result of the injuries he sustained on Sunday (May 26) night in a road smash at Martock.

The incident happened at around 10.20pm on when the motorcyclist was travelling along Stapleton Cross and then appeared to drift across the road before colliding with a hedge and a road sign.

A police spokesman said: “The rider on a Suzuki was taken to Yeovil District Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

“We are now working to identify what happened and we’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision or the motorcyclist prior to this.”
