Learn more about nursing at Yeovil Hospital

STUDENTS thinking of nursing as a career are invited to spend a day with members of the nursing teams at Yeovil District Hospital.

On Saturday, May 18, betweenLearn more about nursing at Yeovil Hospital 9am and 4pm there will be an opportunity for the nurses of tomorrowto learn more about the roles of nursing within the NHS.

Nursing students and members of staff will be on hand to meet those who attend and there will be plenty of advice on applying for a university place to study nursing as well as opportunity to learn about simulated training.

The event will be held in the hospital’s Academy and lunch will be provided. It is aimed at students within Years 11-13.

Becky Garnett, registered nurse and Academy manager, said: “This is the first nursing careers event that we have arranged and we hope that it will be as successful as our medical and midwifery events.

‘’We are planning an exciting programme to provide those who attend with a fantastic opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the diverse opportunity nursing offers and meet some of our healthcare professionals and nursing students who will be able to share their experiences.”

There is a £50 charge for attendance to cover costs, refreshments and lunch during the day.

Places are limited and the closing date for all bookings and payments is Friday, May 10.
