Amy pens her 500-word story for Chris Evans radio contest

A PUPIL at Bruton Amy pens her 500-word story for Chris Evans radio contestSchool for Girls has made it through to the second phase of the Chris Evans Breakfast Show’s 500-Words short story competition.

Amy Lugg, a Year Eight student, is thrilled that her story entitled Growing Up has been selected from more than 90,000 entries to go through to the next stage of the contest which is designed to encourage creative writing among young people.

A school spokesman said: ‘’Only 3,000 children’s entries have made it through to this next stage – so it is a fantastic achievement for Amy.’’

The story will now be sent to the Scottish Book Trust for the second stage of the judging process.

Amy should know by the end of April if her work has made it into the top 50.
