It's Childsplay in Yeovil for Children's Hospice South West

THIS year’s It’s Childsplay walking event takes place in Yeovil on Sunday, May 5, to raise funds for the Children’s Hospice South West.

The event – being organised by Yeovil Rotary Club – is certainly a walk with a difference as people can start at any point that they want to, depending on their fitness and ability.

The only rule to entering is that everyone must finish in the same location where there will be a festival atmosphere and plenty of refreshments to celebrate a successful fundraising day.

In Yeovil the central finishing point is YeovilCountryPark, between noon and 4pm.

Tone Zone Fitness Centre owner Jane Carter, of Yeovil, who is a keen supporter of CHSW, said: ‘’CHSW is an amazing charity that makes a huge difference to families with life-limited children.

‘’A friend of mine, with two life-limited children, visits one of CHSW’s hospices with her family for respite care and has said they would be lost without their support.   I think it’s really important that the whole family are able to stay at the hospice and make the most of the time they have together.

‘’I would encourage as many people as possible to sign up for this walk and help families like my friends.’’

CHSW community fundraiser, Kylie Gallagher, said: ‘’CHSW is almost entirely voluntary funded and so fundraising events like It’s Childsplay are a crucial way for us to raise much needed funds.

‘’We hope the fact that participants will be helping to raise a smile for life-limited children will put a spring in their step!”
