PSA Home Farm Fest line-up set to be unveiled

THE countdown is now well and truly underway to this year’s Home Farm Fest at Chilthorne Domer in aid of the Piers Simon Appeal and its successful School in a Bag initiative.

The festival, which will be staged over three days on June 7-9, will see 54 live music acts perform on three stages.

And now the line-up for the Home Farm Fest is being finalised and will be announced on Thursday, April 11.

The cost of a weekender ticket has been reduced to £30 – which equates to the same price as two School Bags which can be distributed to needy children in areas around the globe hit by natural disaster.

PSA liaison officer, Luke Simon, said: ‘’The weekender ticket of £30 works out at just 55p per act – how is that for an amazing festival value?’’

This year’s festival will be the eighth to be held at Home Farm in aid of the PSA and the following School in a Bag project.

The PSA was formed following the tragic death of former YeovilCollege and PrestonSchool student Piers Simon in the Asian tsunami of Boxing Day 2004 while he was holidaying in Thailand.

It supports victims of disasters through relief aid by providing financial contributions to communities and charities working at the heart of the disaster. Donations are made across all phases of the post-disaster scale from emergency response to recovery.

The PSA also run the initiative School in a Bag where rucksacks containing stationery and resources are sent out to poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster affected children worldwide.

The PSA has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds since it was launched on January 18, 2005, at Piers’ memorial service held at Forde Abbey, near Chard, while it received charity status four months later.

The Yeovil Press is proud to be associated with the PSA, while Glastonbury Festival guru Michael Eavis is the patron of the charity and is a regular visitor to the Home Farm Fest. Will he be visiting the 2013 festival?
