MORE  than £20,000 worth of suspected stolen items have been seized by police in Ilchester following the execution of a warrant.Stolen machinery seized in Ilchester raid

The warrant was carried out by neighbourhood beat officers, specialist investigators and roads policing officers.

On arrival at the address, a trailer was discovered that was confirmed as being stolen from East Lambrook earlier this month.

Following further investigation police also seized an Ifor Williams livestock trailer stolen from Devon in 2004, two Ifor Williams flatbed trailers that had the identifying marks removed or changed, a hydraulic tipper trailer and a Massey Fergusson tractor.

A horse lorry was also seized on behalf of HM Revenue and Customs as it was believed to be running on red diesel.

PCSO Matt Tailby said: "We have since identified the tipper trailer as having been stolen from Somerset earlier in the month and one of the Ifor Williams trailers was stolen from Dorset in February 2011.

"Some of the items have already been returned to their rightful owners which is a great result. We would always advise people to ensure they keep detailed records of any vehicles and equipment they own as it makes it much easier to identify if they are stolen."

A man has been arrested inrelation to this investigation and is currently on police bail pending further enquiries. Call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org .
