A YEOVIL  law firm has announced a trio of promotions among key staff to help steer its development of client services.Trio of promotions at Battens

Battens Solicitors is appointing personal injury lawyer Kate Golding as senior associate, while colleagues Kelly Payne and Gayle Defries become Associates.

Kate returned to Battens in 2007 having trained at the firm, qualifying as a solicitor in 2001 before working for corporate clients at Veitch Penny in Exeter and Bond Pearce in Bristol.

Much of her work is now on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis, advising personal injury claimants with the benefit of her defendant-side experience acting for insurers, companies and local authorities.

Kelly joined Battens in 2008 and recently took over the reins of the Tax and Trust team within the firm’s Wealth Management Department.

Gayle, a residential property expert, joined Battens in 2011. She deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including remortgages and equity transfers.

Battens chairman David Stephens said: “Congratulations to all three appointees on their much deserved promotions. Each has a level of legal acumen which we are keen to foster and grow to help our clients.

“Kate brings an extensive knowledge of personal injury law having worked on both sides of the fence, advising claimants but also acting for organisations seeking to defend claims.

“Kelly has taken over leadership of the specialist Tax and Trusts Team while Gayle is developing a strong reputation as a leading authority on residential property matters.”

Battens is a Legal 500 firm with offices in Yeovil, Sherborne, Dorchester and Weymouth. For more information, visit www.battens.co.uk, call 01935 846000 or follow @BattensSol on Twitter.
