Full speed ahead for Wessex Truck Show

PREPARATIONS are well underway for the Wessex Truck Show which will be held at the Yeovil Showground on Dorchester Road on August 10-11.

All kinds of trucks including custom and show trucks will be on display over the weekend with organisers expecting a total of around 300 magnificent vehicles to be on show.

There will also be other attactions during the show including a funfair, stalls and live evening entertainment to make it a a great weekend for all the family.

There will also be camping facilities for those who want to stay for the weekend.

Show spokesman David Cross told the Yeovil Press during a wet and windy photocall this morning at the Yeovil Showground site that they were hoping to attract crowds of up to 5,000.

But he added: ''Hopefully it will be better weather than it is today!''

A number of truckers turned up at the Showground this morning for the photocall to help launch the countdown to August 10-11.

They take such pride in their vehicles when displaying that on arrival they immediately looked to give their trucks a clean.

There will be a full-size 'lorry wash' during the Truck Show to allow owners to give their prized assets a real scrub up to make them look their best.
