The charity is asking for local people to give up a couple of hours of their time to collect donations at Yeovil’s Huish Park ground in Lufton Way.

Yeovil Town play Preston North End on Saturday, January 19, at 3pm.  Donations will be collected during half-time at 3.45pm.

Zoe Steer, regional fundraiser for the South West at Parkinson’s UK, said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to raise funds and awareness of Parkinson’s at Yeovil Town FC.

"I would like to invite local people to volunteer and join us. With your help we can not only collect donations but help get people talking about Parkinson’s."

Zoe added:  "Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure. I hope many people will sign up to spare an couple of hours of their time to help us to make a real difference to people living with the condition in the South West.”

All volunteers will meet at the ground before the game to collect their buckets. Free match tickets are available to volunteers only.

The funds raised on the day will help the charity to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s in the South West.
