Screwfix backs Children in Need!

PEOPLE of all ages across the Yeovil and South Somerset area will be joining the rest of the nation today and over the weekend in raising money for Children in Need.   Screwfix backs Children in Need!

Staff at Screwfix, the Yeovil-based supplier of tools, plumbing and electrical equipment, has pledged its support for the BBC’s well-loved Children in Need appeal for the seventh year running.

The company’s award-winning call centre has generously offered to donate the whole of its services to take the pounds and pledges for the popular charity from residents across the UK, as well as those in the South West.

Staff based at Screwfix’s head office and contact centre in Yeovil are being encouraged to take to the phones for more than  six  hours straight to help manage the influx of donations and pledges, in an effort to help to beat last year’s grand Children in Need total of over £26 million.

John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our support for Children in Need once again. Last year, the majority of calls directed to the contact centre were from the south west, and this gives a great insight into how generous the region is when it comes to supporting Children in Need, resulting in thousands calls and pledges.

"We are confident that we can help to exceed this total during this year’s fundraising drive, and would like to thank all the local companies* who are helping us on the day to do exactly that. From donating pizzas and cakes, to tea and chocolate, we are extremely grateful for the support."
