Eastbury Hotel goes on the market

A WELL-KNOWN hotel in Sherborne has gone on the market with Colliers International with an asking price of nearly £2m.   Eastbury Hotel goes on the market

The Eastbury Hotel (pictured) is a 23-bedroom boutique hotel and has three AA stars and is priced at £1.95million freehold.

Collliers International hotels director Simon Wells said the Eastbury would tick all the boxes for owners seeking a top grade hotel in the middle of a popular tourist town.

He said: “Not only is it pleasing on the eye but it is comfortable too with high quality bedrooms, charming public areas and a restaurant looking out over the cottage walled gardens. The hotel is also a popular function and wedding venue with a good mix of commercial and leisure guests.  In short, the Eastbury’s got the lot.”

Grade II-listed and situated in the heart of a conservation area, the Georgian property was built in the second half of the eighteenth-century and has been extended on many occasions, most recently by the current owners who have extended the accommodation from 15 bedrooms to 23 bedrooms offering a range of styles including four-posters and modern garden suites.

Simon Wells said: “The Eastbury is ideal for those short breaks or weekends away offering an ideal base to explore West Dorset and Somerset.

“It’s the go-to venue for special occasions whether it’s a Christmas lunch party or a wedding party."

Mr Wells added: “Our clients Nicky and Paul King  bought the hotel in   2000  and wanted to create the sort of house you would like to live in.

"They concentrated their efforts on refurbishing the bedrooms and re-styling the public rooms building up the business to where it is today. This gives the new owners a superb opportunity   to be more involved to develop
the business and improve on the bottom line.”

Accommodation at the Eastbury includes a lounge, restaurant/function room for up to 120 people and a conservatory.
