Jo, who has been raising money for the Royal British Legion for 20 years, was dressed in her military-style burlesque costume as Major Outrage to raise cash for the appeal.

She hit the headlines earlier this year when her outfit was deemed too risque for Sherborne branch members of the Royal British Legion, but the national organisation of the charity said that Jo could continue.

Jo was in Yeovil today where she met up with local Army cadets at the War Memorial in The Borough to rattle her tin and sell some poppies to shoppers....some who looked rather bemused at her costume.

One elderly gentleman looked at Jo and looked at her rather scanty attire and muttered ''she'll catch a death of cold'' in reference to the fact that it was not the warmest of days to be stood in the town centre revealing plenty of flesh.

But Jo told the Yeovil Press: ''I don't feel cold at all.''

Jo's presence in the town centre certainly caught the imagination of shoppers who supported the Poppy Appeal by donating readily. Some even asked to take photos of the collector.

And one cheeky cadet, Corporal Josh Williams, even posed for photos with Jo in suitable burlesque style.
