Cycle shop owners urged to be vigilant

SECOND-HAND dealers and cycle shop owners are being urged to be vigilant following the theft of two bikes in Yeovil.

The two bikes were taken from a garage in the Grass Royal area of Yeovil overnight September 22-23.

Police believe that the bikes would have been lifted over a hedge at the rear of the property.

The bikes taken are a white F2 Cannondale women's mountain bike which has blue markings on it and a man's black F6 Cannondale mountain bike.

A police spokesman said: ''We are urging second-hand dealers and bike shop owners to be vigilant and contact them if they are offered bikes matching the description.

They have also reminded those who own bikes to ensure that they take precautions to secure them. Crime reduction advice is available from the police website or crime reduction officers at your police station.
