FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue a child yesterday (Tuesday, September 24) after getting stuck.... in a hairdressers’ chair! The incident happened at just after 12.15pm at a hairdressing salon in Holyrood Street, Chard, and firefighters found one child with their legs trapped. Crews released the child using small tools and passed the “duty of care” to paramedics at the salon.

TWO children had to be rescued by firefighters this morning (Wednesday, September 25) after getting locked inside a downstairs room at a property in Yeovil. The alarm was raised at just before 9.30am to the home in Salthouse Lane and one fire engine from Yeovil attended the scene. Crews used small tools to release the children.

FIREFIGHTERS were involved in dealing with a barn fire this morning (Tuesday, September 24) near Martock. The alarm was raised at just before 5.30am to a fire at Bakers Farm in Coat. Five fire engines were mobilised to deal with the blaze which involved a three-bay barn measuring 18 metres by 70 metres which contained 120 tonnes of hay.
