LEISURE: Home Farm Fest 13 is a massive success

THE 13th annual Home Farm Fest – supporting the School in a Bag charity – proved another fantastic success over the weekend.

Seven stages, one dance tent, more than 135 bands, five licensed bars, food aplenty, a market area, plus lots more for all the family and great weather – the festival at Chilthorne Domer was one of the best ever held over three days from June 8-10, 2018.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the School in a Bag charity which works tirelessly to support orphaned and disadvantaged children around the globe by bringing them a simple ray of hope in the form of a brightly-coloured schoolbag packed with everyday school and eating utensils we would take for granted.

Home Farm Fest is the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year and the previous 12 festivals have raised more than £325,700.

The Piers Simon Appeal was founded following the death of Piers, 33, a former Yeovil College and Preston School student, in the Boxing Day 2004 Asian Tsunami.

Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis, who is a patron of the School in a Bag charity and a friend of the Simon family, visited Home Farm Fest on Friday (June 8, 2018).
