SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Take care out on the roads

EMERGENCY services are reminding people to take care while out on the roads in South Somerset following the latest bout of adverse weather conditions to hit the area.

Police and firefighters were called out to this scene – pictured above - on the main A30 between Chard and Crewkerne after this accident on Sunday (March 18, 2018).

“Thankfully everyone involved in this incident were ok,” said a police spokesman.

“But please drive slowly and carefully if you have go to out. Normal advice should be given – if you are unsure about whether to go out or not, don’t!”

Keep up to date with the latest weather warnings on the Met Office website here .

You can check on incidents in the road network by checking the Highways England website here or check the latest road conditions in Somerset here .

Please only call 999 for genuine emergencies.

In terms of the 101 non-emergency number, we would urge people to carefully consider whether their call needs a police response. Routine calls should, if possible, be delayed until the weather conditions improve, or you can contact police online here.
