SCHOOL NEWS: Meet the Head evening planned in Yeovil for would-be Queen’s College students

PARENTS and prospective students will be able to meet the headteacher of Somerset’s prestigious Queen’s College during a special event later this month in Yeovil.

Dr Lorraine Earps will be meeting with people to discuss latest successes and developments at the independent school in Taunton during a Meet the Head event to be held at the Manor Hotel in Hendford, Yeovil, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, from 5pm to 8pm.

Queen’s College has recently received a glowing report following a visit from a team of Independent School Inspectorate inspectors in September 2017.

The report said: “Pupils of all ages have highly positive attitudes to learning and, as such, achieve a high level of success.”

Anyone wishing to attend the Meet the Head at the Manor Hotel event in Yeovil on January 30, 2018, should just go along on the day or, for further information, email admissions@queenscollege.org.uk .

Queen’s College, originally named the West of England Wesleyan Proprietary Grammar School, was founded in 1843 and adopted its present name in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.
