YEOVIL NEWS: Woman, 18, sexually assaulted in town centre

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Yeovil town centre.

The incident happened in the precinct area of Middle Street, near to Poundland, at around 3.10am on Sunday, December 10, 2017.

The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was approached by a man aged in his late 20s and sexually assaulted.

The man is described as being of medium build with short dark hair and stubble. He was wearing a black bomber-style jacket.

A police spokesman said: “When a friend of the victim went to check on her, two other men approached and punched him before making off up Middle Street.

“One of these men is described as being about 6ft 2ins tall and also aged in his late 20s. He was wearing a black Puffa-style with the hood up and dark coloured jeans.

“The other man was older, in his late 30s or early 40s, of small build with dark stubble. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket and a light or white coloured baseball cap.”
