LEISURE: On your marks, get set, ho-ho-ho for Santa Dash

SEVERAL hundred runners braved the rain, wind and mud to take part in the annual Santa Dash in aid of St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice in Yeovil.

The runners were dressed in traditional Father Christmas outfits and other seasonal festive costumes and gathered at Yeovil Country Park on Sunday (December 10, 2017) for the fun-filled 4k event.

The event was kindly sponsored by Goldenstones Leisure Centre and Milsted Langdon.

Among those who went along to support the runners were the Mayor and Mayoress of Yeovil, Cllr Darren Shutler and his wife Anna.

The Mayor congratulated all of the runners for turning up – despite the bad weather – and doing their bit for St Margaret’s Hospice.

The hospice is one of the Mayor’s two chosen charities he is supporting during the 2017-18 period.

A spokesman for St Margaret’s Hospice thanked the Yeovil Town Road Running Club for once again co-ordinating the run which has become a popular annual event now in the local calendar.
