GLOVERS NEWS: Three goals, three points and two men sent-off for Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Stevenage Borough on Saturday (October 28, 2017) in the Sky Bet League Two – although they ended the game at Huish Park with just nine men on the pitch.

The Glovers raced into a three-goal half-time lead with efforts from Sam Surridge on 24 and 40 minutes respectively and one from Olufela Olomola on 27 minutes.

But game boiled over on the hour mark when a mass brawl started among the players which resulted in both teams being reduced to ten men with Olomola being sent-off for Yeovil and Stevenage’s Kevin Toner also shown a red card.

Yeovil then had another player sent-off on 82 minutes when Zoko was dismissed for dangerous play when he went into a challenge with his foot raised up against Stevenage’s Jake King.

Although the win was encouraging, the sendings-off of Yeovil’s two key attackers could prove costly with suspensions inevitable.

The result moved Yeovil up one place to 17th in the League Two table.
