YEOVIL NEWS: Gin Night is a charity success for the Mayor

THE Mayor of Yeovil, Cllr Darren Shutler, boosted his fundraising for his charities of the year – St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and School in a Bag – in tasty fashion.

He hosted a Gin Night at Majestic Wine in Sherborne Road, Yeovil, on Friday (October 20, 2017) which was attended by guests including civic dignitaries from around the region.

People were able to sample various gins supplied by Majestic Wines and visiting Newton House Gin and Salcombe Gin, while vodka enthusiasts were treated to some tipples from Black Cow Vodka. Other drinks were also available to enjoy.

The Mayor said: “It was a really good night and I’d like to thank everyone who came along and supported the event.

“Our next big fundraising event is the Charity Ball at the Westlands entertainment venue on Saturday, November 25, 2017, and we’ve still got tickets available.”

The Mayor was delighted that the charity Gin Night raised a profit of £425.
