LEISURE: Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society to triumph once more with latest show

AUDIENCES are in for a great show at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil this week when members of the super-talented Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society perform 9 to 5 - the  fun musical written by Dolly Parton.

Opening night is on Tuesday (October 10, 2017) and runs through until Saturday (October 14, 2017) with performances at 7.30pm and an extra Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

The musical contains some great songs and some witty one-liners and amusing scenes as three women Violet Newstead (Karen Pankhurst), Doralle Rhodes (Sarah Symcox) and Judy Bernley (Jennifer Holland-Brewer) join forces to get their own back on their “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” boss Franklin Hart Jr (Jay Westaway).

As always YAOS has a talented chorus who play an important role once again in making the show extra special with song and dance.

And YAOS are even joined in the show on stage by the queen of country music herself – Dolly Parton.

The show is directed by Martyn Knight with Lynne Merrifield as musical director.

Tickets are priced £16 for the opening night and matinee performances and £18 all others - but they are selling out fast.
