GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town slip to another defeat

YEOVIL Town suffered a disappointing day on Saturday (October 7, 2017) on the other side of the Severn Bridge with a 2-0 defeat at Newport County in the Sky Bet League Two.

The hosts broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time when Padraig Amond scored with a header from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner of the net following an assist from former Yeovil midfielder Matty Dolan.

Newport nearly doubled their advantage on 52 minutes when Joss Labadie hit the bar with a left-footed shot from outside the box.

But it was not long before it was 2-0 and game over when Labadie netted on 55 minutes with header from the centre of the box following another assist by Dolan.

It was another thoroughly disappointing performance by Yeovil with Newport running the show in terms of possession and shots on and off goal.

The defeat saw Yeovil slip down to 20th spot in the League Two table with just 12 points from 12 games played.
