GLOVERS: Not such a Super Saturday at Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town had to settle for a point on Saturday (September 23, 2017) when their Sky Bet League Two clash with Port Vale at Huish Park ended in a 1-1 draw.

Tom Pope gave Port Vale the lead on 29 minutes and the away side were the better of the two teams over the opening 45 minutes.

But Yeovil battled back in the second-half and equalised through Otis Khan on 66 minutes.

Port Vale were reduced to ten men in the 82nd minute when James Gibbons was sent-off for a second bookable offence.

Although Yeovil pressed for an equaliser including a string of corners in time added-on they could not force a later winner.

A disappointing result for Yeovil as Darren Way’s Glovers would clearly have preferred a win on home soil against a team, similar to themselves, at the wrong end of the League Two table.

The result left Yeovil in 19th spot in League Two with nine points from their nine games played with Port Vale having moved out of the bottom two on goal difference.

Yeovil are on their travels on Tuesday (September 26, 2017) when they visit fellow strugglers Chesterfield.
