GLOVERS NEWS: Young keeper coach departs and experienced keeper coach arrives at Yeovil Town

YEOVIL Town have announced the departure of goalkeeper coach Sam Shulberg ahead of Saturday’s (September 9, 2017) Sky Bet League Two clash with Cheltenham Town at Huish Park.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Shulberg who had been operating in the role since May 2016.

Shulberg first came to the club as part of the Academy's coaching setup and leaves with the best wishes of manager Darren Way and all at Yeovil Town FC.

Filling the void left by the 22-year-old's departure is former Bristol City and Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Steve Phillips, who joins Way’s coaching staff initially on an interim basis.

Making over 500 Football League appearances during his career, the 39-year-old will work with first-team goalkeepers Artur Krysiak and Jonny Maddison as well as undertaking the role of head of goalkeeping for the club's Academy.
