SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Three people taken to hospital after crash near RNAS Yeovilton

THREE people needed to be released from the wreckage of a two-vehicle crash near RNAS Yeovilton on Sunday (July 30, 2017) night.

Firefighters from Yeovil and Somerton were mobilised just after 11pm following a request for support from police officers and ambulance personnel to the incident on Costello Hill at Ilchester.

It was confirmed that three casualties were still in the vehicles and the emergency crews got to work to stabilise them and carry out first aid.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the people who were then left in the hands of the paramedics and taken to hospital.

The RNAS Yeovilton Fire Service also attended the scene and helped.
