SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Passenger killed in Yeovilton crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Yeovil.

The incident happened at 11.10pm on Sunday (July 30, 2017) on the B3151 at Costello Hill, Yeovilton.

A Nissan Qashqai was travelling from the direction of RNAS Yeovilton, when it failed to negotiate a series of bends and crossed to the opposite carriageway.

It was collision with a Rover Metro travelling in the opposite direction.

A front seat passenger in the Rover suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene shortly afterwards.

A police spokesman said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information to help our enquiries. If you can help, call 101 and ask for the collision investigation unit, quoting 155/17/1053.”

The driver of the Nissan – a woman - has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.
