YEOVIL AREA NEWS: New playground planned for Sutton Bingham

A NEW children’s playground is to be built on the play area next to the Sutton Bingham Reservoir on the outskirts of Yeovil.

South Somerset District Council has given Wessex Water planning permission to go-ahead with the project.

The new play equipment will replace the previous playground in the public car park and picnic area at Sutton Bingham which was demolished in February 2016 as it had reached the end of its life and required replacing.

A Wessex Water spokesman said: “The proposed playground and site layout has been designed in order to be more inclusive for children of all abilities and include elements of informal play, therefore being a significant improvement on the previous equipment.”
