SCHOOL NEWS: Wadham students celebrate Year 11 Prom in the rain

WET weather failed to dampen the enthusiasm of Year 11 students from Wadham School in Crewkerne as they enjoyed the traditional end of school Prom which was held at Haselbury Mill.

A large crowd of parents, relatives and friends assembled at Haselbury Mill before the mass cavalcade of vehicles arrived with students looking forward to a fun-packed evening on Wednesday (June 28, 2017).

And so what if it rained – that certainly was not going to spoil the party!

Students – dressed in their finest – were chauffeured to the Prom in tractors, camper vans, sports cars, vintage vehicles, on the back of motorcycles, an old police car, and even a horse and carriage.

But top of the class was student Jake Cullen, who has the rare Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, who arrived on his amazing special off-road wheelchair with a trio of motorcyclists escorting him.
