Cllr Shutler, who was re-elected to serve a second year as Mayor, announced on Tuesday (May 2, 2017) at Yeovil Town Council’s Annual Town Meeting that he would be continuing his support of St Margaret’s Hospice and the School in a Bag initiative in 2017-18.

Julia Poulton, of the hospice, said the previous 12 months had been fantastic and that the Mayor and his wife, Anna, had got “involved with everything and anything” in support of St Margaret’s.

And she added: “Who would have thought that throwing yourself out of a plane would have been his favourite event.”

“We really are looking forward to working with them again and raising funds for the hospice,” said Julia.

“The hospice really does rely on public support.”
