COLLEGE NEWS: Former student excels in public relations – thanks to Yeovil College

FORMER Yeovil College student Beki Sharman met Prince Harry while learning more about the Walking with the Wounded charity project.

Since completing her qualifications with the college and working at public relations company ADPR, Beki has gone from being the firm’s first apprentice, to becoming the PR Account Manager working with some of the most recognised brands in the world.

Beki wanted to work with exciting businesses, using communications, event management and to be given the opportunity to be creative.

She achieved a grade C in A-Level Psychology, a Distinction in BND Business Diploma then completed the Level 6 Professional Diploma in Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), before progressing into her job as a PR Account Manager at ADPR.

Beki’s job entails managing a range of client accounts for the consumer, trade and digital markets, in the marine, outdoor and professional services sectors on a local, national and global basis. Some clients include: Helly Hansen, Chatham, Albert Goodman, Clarks Village and Torqeedo.

The 24-year-old said: “Over my six-year career it has given me opportunities that I’d never have dreamt of doing, for example, meeting HRH Prince Harry in connection with the Walking with the Wounded charity project and taking a group of bloggers out to Barbados to learn to sail.”COLLEGE NEWS: Former student excels in public relations – thanks to Yeovil College
