LEISURE: Congratulations to Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society on an amazing show

EVERY single member of the Yeovil Amateur Operatic Society deserves to take a big bow following their successful run of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar at the Octagon Theatre.

The YAOS performed the musical – from the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice stable – between March 28 to April 8, 2017, and received glowing praise from many people who went and watched and then posted comments on social media.

Nick Harris took the lead role of Jesus and he linked up well with Luke Whitchurch as Judas Iscariot and Poppy Rendell as Mary Magdalene.

But the success of the show was down to all-round excellent cast production and everyone played its part in producing another stunning piece of musical theatre.

The society will be back on the Octagon stage on October 10-14, 2017, with 9 to 5 – The Musical; while it will be performing Irving Berlin’s Top Hat from March 13-24, 2018 – a first for YAOS and Yeovil.
