SOMERSET NEWS: Motorcyclist dies two weeks after crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died following a road traffic collision last month in West Somerset.

The incident happened at just before 1.40pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017, on the B3227 at Slape Moor Bridge near Wiveliscombe.

A Toyota Auris was travelling towards Wiveliscombe when it stopped to turn right into Manor Grange, where an Audi A4 estate was waiting to pull out of the junction.

A police spokesman said: “A BMW motorcycle being ridden away from Wiveliscombe approached the junction and was in collision with the Toyota and then collided with the Audi.

“The male motorcyclist was seriously injured and was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Sadly he died at 9.10pm on 13 April.”

The spokesman added: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may be able to help our investigation.”

If you are able to help, call the police collision investigation unit on 101, quoting collision reference CI/58/17.
