YEOVIL NEWS: Disgusting! Man caught having a poo in the woods at Ninesprings

A COUPLE had a romantic stroll through the woods at Ninesprings in Yeovil ruined when they came across a man squatting down in amongst the trees and having a poo.

It was on Saturday (February 18, 2017) afternoon when the couple took advantage of the good weather and were taking a leisurely walk through the maze of pathways up in the woods of the Yeovil Country Park when they saw the disgusting sight.

“It was a lovely day, it was nice and warm for February and we were having a pleasant time – when all of a sudden we saw this man having a s**t,” said the couple who did not want to be named.

“We couldn’t believe it. Admittedly we didn’t look for long, but the man was definitely doing something he shouldn’t have been doing in public.

“Disgusting would be an understatement. We know ‘you’ve got to go, when you got to go’ – but he could have quite easily gone down to the café and used the facilities there.

“Even if he was taken short, he could have found somewhere up in the woods a little bit more out of the way.

“Where he was squatting down – anyone walking along that way would have seen him.”

The couple added: “We did look around and didn’t see anyone else walking along or we would have warned them – so we hope that nobody else had to see what we saw. It really was disgusting.

“We reckon the man was in his 30s and must have seen us or heard us coming because he was staring at us and probably praying that we wouldn’t see him. But we did and couldn’t believe it – he looked absolutely mortified and embarrassed!”

Ninesprings and Yeovil Country Park is owned by South Somerset District Council and managed by the countryside rangers and a team of volunteers.

The rangers and volunteers work hard to ensure that Ninesprings is kept clean and tidy for everybody to use – but nothing can be done when somebody decides to do what the man in this incident did.

Ninesprings has been prone to having problems with anti-social behaviour from a minority of users. Anyone with information about vandalism at the park or other acts of anti-social behaviour are encouraged to call police on 101.
