GLOVERS NEWS: Yeovil Town working with Cheltenham Town to identify those involved in crowd trouble

YEOVIL Town Football Club has said it takes “supporter disorder” very seriously following on from disappointing scenes at Cheltenham Town on Saturday (February 18, 2017) where visiting Glovers fans were seen to be fighting amongst themselves.

A statement on the club’s official website alongside the photo (pictured above) said: “We are aware of reports, footage and imagery regarding supporter disorder in the away end at Cheltenham Town this afternoon.

“The football club is proud of its family supporter base and reputation within the English Football League and take issues regarding supporter disorder very seriously.

“The club will endeavour to work with Cheltenham Town and the authorities to identify those involved and take the appropriate action.”

Some supporters at the game have, however, described the incident as a “mountain out of a mole hill” and that it actually involved only two people.

Others have blamed the mainstream media for “blowing it up out of all proportion.”

It should be noted, however, that talk of the incident was rife on Yeovil Town football-related social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook.
