YEOVIL NEWS: Yeovil Beer Festival returns to Westlands

THE popular Yeovil Beer Festival is to return to the Westlands social complex later this year.

The festival – which is a big hit with local people – was held at Westlands two years ago, but had to move to the Yeovil Showground in 2016 after the closure of Westlands in September 2015.

But now Westlands Yeovil is all set to reopen in March this year under the new ownership of South Somerset District Council.

A spokesman for Westlands Yeovil said: “We are excited to announce that this year’s Yeovil Beer Festival will take place at Westlands on Friday, April 21, 2017, and Saturday, April 22, 2017.

“Tickets are on sale now for Friday, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening and for all day Saturday.”

As of midday on Thursday (January 12, 2017) tickets went on sale for this year’s Yeovil Beer Festival which will take place at the newly refurbished Westlands venue.

Operations manager, Sean Welsh, said: “We are delighted to welcome Yeovil Beer Festival to Westlands, as one of our first events in the new building it is great to have a showcase of local beers and ciders.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity for people to see the new venue buzzing with live music from local bands and over 80 real ales and 20 Ciders.”
