GLOVERS NEWS: Late goals win it for Yeovil Town

TWO late goals gave Yeovil Town a 2-1 victory over Colchester United on Saturday (November 19, 2016) to take them within a whisker of the play-off spots in League Two.

The Glovers had been in control of proceedings but had failed to take an advantage and it was inevitable, therefore, that Colchester would take the lead against the run of play.

Colchester made the breakthrough on 49 minutes when Kurtis Guthrie reacted to first after they had hit the crossbar and put the ball in the back on the net.

Yeovil boss Darren Way through on substitute strikers Francois Zoko and Tahvon Campbell in the hope of getting back into the game and the move worked – although they left it late!

The Glovers pulled level on 86 minutes when Zoko smashed home an equaliser from close range and then as the game was entering time added on Campbell popped home to stab home a dramatic winner.

The win put Yeovil up into eighth spot and just outside the play-off zone on goal difference.

That could change on Tuesday (November 22, 2016) when they are back at Huish Park with the visit of Crawley.
