YEOVIL NEWS: Ooh la la! Castaways to perform at Disneyland Paris!

THE Yeovil-based Castaway Theatre Group will have to start brushing up on its French after being accepted to perform at Disneyland Paris next year.

The youth group – led by Lynn Lee Brown – sent off an audition tape back in September and it was earlier this month when it received the news that it had been accepted.

The group, who earlier this year wowed the crowds at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil with its Wizard of Oz musical production, is now buzzing in anticipation at performing on stage at Disneyland Paris.

Lynn said: “To say we are excited about performing at Disneyland Paris is an under-statement! We can’t wait! It is going to be an amazing few days for everyone.”

Now the Castaways leaders have a mountain of paperwork to sort out and trip-planning to arrange as nearly 120 adults and children are all set to travel to France.

The opportunity arose after Castaways discovered a scheme operated by the Take Us 2 The Magic organisation which gives youth dance and performing arts groups the chance to grace the stage of what is popularly known as EuroDisney and parade down Main Street of the theme park.

Castaways, meanwhile, are back on stage at South Somerset District Council’s Gold Star Awards night at the Octagon Theatre on Tuesday (October 25, 2016).
