SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Cash machine attacked with circular saw during service station break-in

TWO men forced their way into a service station in South Somerset and attacked a cash machine with a circular saw.

Police are appealing for information about the burglary at the service station on Broadway at Merriott, in between Yeovil and Crewkerne, at around 3.40am on Saturday, October 15, 2016.

A police spokesman said: “The men subsequently attacked an ATM with what is believed to be a circular saw before being disturbed.

“They then made off from the scene with two computers in a dark coloured car, possibly a BMW.

“We’re keen to speak to a cyclist who rode past the service station at the time the incident was taking place in addition to anyone who may have seen something suspicious.”
