RUNNING: Good luck for the Chard Chaser 10k

PARALYMPIAN athletes are battling it out for honours in Rio but athletes closer to home in Somerset will be hoping to achieve their personal best in the new Chard Chaser 10k which takes place for the first time.

The Chard Chaser 10K – being staged today (Sunday, September 11, 2016) from 10am to 12.30pm - is a new event in the 1610 Race series and it is an ideal first time event for novices.

This is a one- lap route with two challenging climbs which starts from the new 1610 gym at Jarman Way in Chard and then onto country roads and off road sections through Cuttiford’s Door and Chardleigh Green.

Scenic views of the countryside and Blackdown Hills add to the attraction of this event. Runners of all abilities, including walkers, are welcome at the event which starts at 10am for runners at 1610 Chard or 9am for walkers.

The Chard Chaser 10K is the last event in a series organised by 1610 Chard to celebrate National Fitness Day which was held on Wednesday (September 7, 2016).
