LEISURE: Byte All Night with Snakebyte raising funds for School in a Bag charity

YEOVIL-BASED rock band Snakebyte will be rocking the town tonight (Saturday, August 27, 2016) in a special charity gig at The Beach Café Bar.

The lads will be banging out the tunes in aid of the School in a Bag charity which is based at Chilthorne Domer, near Yeovil, and provides everyday educational items such as pens, pencils and paper for children in poor countries around the globe.

Snakebyte have been big successes at the charity’s last two Home Farm Festivals – held at Home Farm in Chilthorne – and have gained a big following locally.

Now they are doing this special gig tonight at The Beach Café Bar in Park Road, Yeovil, to help promote the School in a Bag initiative – which has been created from the Piers Simon Appeal which was set up following the devastating Asian tsunami of Boxing Day 2004 which killed around 230,000 people including former Preston School and Yeovil College student Piers Simon.

The PSA and School in a Bag team – led by Piers’ brother Luke – have gone on to raise over £1m since then.

Tonight’s gig will also feature another local band, Hundred Days, who have also appeared at the Home Farm Fest, and there will be a fancy dress 80s style and prizes for best dressed – although not compulsory.

There will be exclusive cocktails to be enjoyed and a special School in a Bag appearance.

All the fun starts at 8pm tonight (Saturday, August 27, 2016).
