YEOVIL NEWS: Boy bitten on leg by dog

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a boy was bit on the leg by a dog in Yeovil.

The incident happened on July 20, 2016, between 10.45pm and 11pm on Cavalier Way near the Tesco Express store.

Two children, a boy and a girl, were walking their dog to the shops, when it was attacked by a white boxer dog with brown spots. The boxer then bit the boy on the leg.

The dog’s owner was abusive to the child and staff from Tesco who came to assist. He then walked away.

He is described as around 50 years-old, white, approximately 5ft 6” tall and of a large build particularly around the stomach. He had short, brown receding hair with a bald patch and stubble. He was wearing a white, short-sleeved T-shirt and black trousers. He might also have been wearing a necklace.

A police spokesman said: “Did you see this incident happen? Did you see a man matching this description walking in the area with a white boxer dog? Do you know who he is?”

If so, please get in touch with PC Marc Walker by calling 101 and quoting reference number 5216161204.
