YEOVIL NEWS: I’m s-s-s-serious – what woman tells store when she finds a dead snake in her flat-pack furniture

A YEOVIL woman was left hissed-off when she opened up her flat-pack furniture and found a dead snake inside the wrapping.

Ruth Summerbell, 33, said she had bought the chest of drawers from Argos and made the grizzly discovery when she started to assemble the piece furniture.

Ruth, speaking in The Sun today (Wednesday, July 13, 2016), said: “It scared the c**p out of me. It hadn’t long eaten – it had a bump in its stomach.”

She had bought the Brazil-made cabinet from Argos for £78.99 and had had it at home for a few days before opening up the packaging.

“If I’d opened it earlier this snake might have still been alive,” said Ruth.

Ruth said that she nearly had a hissy-fit when Argos did not initially appear to believe her story that she had found a dead snake in her furniture and was then left even angrier when the firm offered her just £30 in compensation.

“It was an insult,” she told The Sun. “I’m thinking of cancelling the matching wardrobe!”

The Sun reported today that the store has now offered Ruth a full refund. “We are extremely sorry,” said an Argos spokesman.
