SOMERSET NEWS: Fears about thatched roof fire near Wellington

FIREFIGHTERS were called out this afternoon (Sunday, June 26, 2016) to deal with a fire at a property near Wellington which had a thatched roof.

Two fire engines from Wellington and one from Taunton were mobilised at just before 12.45pm to the incident in Chipley Road, Nynehead.

Firefighters discovered there was a chimney fire at the property involving a log burner and they quickly got to work to sort out the problem and checked that the rest of the building – including the thatched roof – was safe.
