SOMERSET NEWS: Van on fire at Asda car park

FIREFIGHTERS were called out this evening (Monday, June 13, 2016) to deal with a van on fire parked at an Asda supermarket.

The alarm was raised at just before 7.30pm to the incident at the Asda store car park in Creechbarrow Road, Taunton.

One fire engine from Taunton attended the incident and firefighters discovered the van to be well alight. They quickly got to work, but the van sustained 50 per cent fire damage and the remainder by heat and smoke.

“The cause was believed to be accidental,” said a spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
