YEOVIL NEWS: Summer event for Wyndham Park residents

THE Wyndham Park Partnership in Yeovil will be hosting a Summer Open Event for all residents of the housing estate next weekend.

The event on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from midday to 4pm will take place at the land near the Circus – at the very top of Collingwood Road - to bring local residents together.

It is the second time the partnership has run an event of this kind and after the great attendance last year, the partnership hope it will become an annual event.

To launch festivities, representatives from South Somerset District Council, Knightstone Housing, Somerset County Council, Yeovil Without Parish Council, Barratts, David Wilson Homes and Huish Academy (Wyndham Park School sponsor) will be on hand to answer questions from midday until 1pm and from then onwards there will be fresh cooked pizzas and lots of games and attractions.

Cllr Peter Gubbins, South Somerset District Council’s Area South committee chairman, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to get together with their neighbours and also to find out what is happening in and around the estate.

The Wyndham Park Partnership aims to deliver facilities that enable Wyndham Park to develop as a community.

The partnership consists of representatives from the Wyndham Park Community Association, Yeovil Without Parish Council, SSDC, Somerset County Council, Barratts, Magna Housing, Knightstone Housing, the Police and Church Leaders.

Rev David Keen chairs the group and anyone interested in finding out more should contact the parish clerk Barbara Appleby on 01935-479975 or via email clerk@yeovilwithoutparishcouncil.gov.uk.
